Highlights included Claire Lynn and Troy Cribbins tackling cost of living, public safety, and education; Rick Coleman and Chris Ensley focusing on homelessness and leadership; incumbents John Sweet and challenger Brandi Martindale addressing funding crises and cultural shifts.

“American Values Tour” Lights Up the Egyptian Theatre: A Night of Patriotism, Faith, and Youth Empowerment
Youth speakers shared inspiring stories of global journeys, free speech, and faith. TPUSA rallied for conservative clubs, and Maureen Bannon fired up the crowd: "We're in a war of good vs. evil—keep fighting for America's future!" Honoring Charlie Kirk's legacy amid protests.
Empowering Coos County: Candidate Forum on Taxes, Timber, and True Conservative Values
Moderated by Marty Kuhrt, the event featured Coos County Commissioner candidates Brandi Martindale (challenging incumbent John Sweet, focusing on communication, crime reduction via rehab, and property rights) and Rick Coleman (challenging Democrat Rick Osborne, emphasizing public safety funding, timber revival, and constitutional enforcement).
Two Protests
There were 2 “protests” on June 14th. The first one was a “no kings” protest, full of hate for half of the community, cussing at children, vulgar signs and complete disrespect for the community as a whole. An hour later, there was a “flag wave”. That protest had a completely different feeling. No hate, no vulgar signs, no cussing…
Politicians Just Took Away Utility Rate Vote for Three Cities
If the governor signs this legislation, the immediate impact will be felt in Bandon, North Bend, and Reedsport. City councils will gain unilateral authority to set utility rates without voter approval. The longer-term consequences may include higher utility costs, decreased transparency in rate-setting processes, and further erosion of direct democratic participation in a local government's decision-making authority.
Your Tax Increase Just Funded Another Developer
Understanding Tax Increment Financing is understanding how the shell game works. And, once you see it, you cannot unsee it. The question is whether enough taxpayers and the newly elected board members of the North Bend School District will educate themselves to fight back, like the former members of the North Bend School District did.
Flag Day Celebration

City needs to do more to address homeless issues
Until the city decides to care about their taxpaying citizens and their safety, these homeless will be allowed to continue to terrorize this beautiful city until they destroy the city. We should expect more from our leaders.
